Mitigation Services

Our team understands that mitigation events require rapid response, technical expertise, and careful coordination. From emergency stabilization and moisture mitigation to structural reinforcement and site protection, we bring the strength and resilience reflected in the word Kallpa to every job site.

No matter the type of mitigation event, our team is prepared to help assess the situation, implement immediate protective measures, and guide projects toward recovery. The projects highlighted below showcase examples of the diverse mitigation work we have completed, each one reflecting the strength, adaptability, and problem-solving spirit that defines Kallpa.

Water Mitigation

When heavy rain exposed a failure in the exterior planter box, water intruded into both the third and second floor office spaces. Ceiling tiles became saturated, walls were affected, and moisture began migrating through shared wall cavities, creating the risk of further structural damage and business interruption.

Kallpa stepped in immediately to contain and control the loss.

Our team installed full containment barriers to isolate the impacted areas and protect unaffected office spaces. Negative air and controlled airflow systems were set up to prevent cross-contamination while directing moisture-laden air out of the structure.

On both floors, we deployed commercial-grade dehumidifiers and air movers to stabilize humidity levels and accelerate structural drying. Ducted systems were routed through ceiling cavities and along corridor runs to target hidden moisture within wall assemblies and above the drop ceiling. Wet ceiling tiles were identified, and affected materials were documented to support the restoration process.

Throughout the mitigation, Kallpa maintained a clean, organized jobsite to allow limited business operations to continue safely. Moisture readings were monitored daily to track progress and ensure all building materials returned to acceptable dry standards.

By responding quickly and implementing a controlled drying plan, Kallpa minimized downtime, prevented secondary damage such as microbial growth, and positioned the property for efficient reconstruction once the planter box source repair was completed.

When water threatens your property, Kallpa delivers rapid response, strategic containment, and professional restoration from start to finish.

Roof and HVAC

On this single-story commercial project, multiple HVAC condenser units were installed directly over the roofing system. To complete the reroof properly, the equipment had to be temporarily removed and reset. The challenge? Deliver a safe, professional solution without blowing the client’s budget.

Instead of mobilizing a crane and forcing a full operational shutdown, we developed a coordinated plan utilizing a mechanical lift system to safely disconnect and relocate the units.

Scope of Work:

✔️ Disconnected and labeled all electrical connections and line sets

✔️ Coordinated carefully with mechanical components to prevent damage

✔️ Lifted and staged condenser units safely off the active work area

✔️ Completed full reroof installation without obstruction

✔️ Reset, secured, and reconnected all equipment after roofing was finalized

This type of project requires more than roofing expertise, it demands sequencing, communication, and cost-conscious planning.

By focusing on logistics and coordination, we protected:

  • The HVAC equipment

  • The integrity of the new roofing system

  • The client’s operational continuity

  • The overall project budget

Clean execution. Safe handling. No unnecessary crane costs.

If your reroof involves rooftop mechanical equipment, planning ahead makes all the difference. Let’s build the strategy before the tear-off begins.

Failed Roof Vent

One failed roof vent. Two interior leaks. Fully resolved.

At a mortuary in Van Nuys, a single compromised roof vent led to water intrusion in two separate areas—impacting ceilings, drywall, and interior finishes. After one of the recent LA rains, early signs of mold growth were already starting to appear.

We approached the work with care, keeping the space clean and minimizing disruption while it remained in use.

Here’s how it was handled:

• Removed and replaced the defective roof vent

• Sealed the new installation with ASC mastic

• Traced and addressed all affected areas

• Remediated mold growth with proper containments in place

• Demoed and removed damaged drywall

• Replaced, patched, and painted to match existing finishes

• Installed clean containments during the build-back phase to control dust and protect the environment

Proper repair means addressing the root cause and restoring the space with precision.

Every space and situation is different, but the priority stays the same, take care of the environment and the people using it while getting things back to where they should be.
